The work

KNTLGY (Knitology) is a knitwear brand from Istanbul that works between physical and digital fashion. It designs on screen to cut down on physical samples, and its collections also live as digital garments on DressX and in Spatial. I designed the prints for FW24, across its two collections, GEN and SEN.

Each print began as a parametric study in Grasshopper, inside Rhino. I tuned the parameters to bring KNTLGY's next-gen side together with its Istanbul and Turkish roots, and the studies drew line fields and grids that swell and buckle. I picked the strongest of these untouched outputs and refined them by hand into the final prints. Each print was then engineered to a garment from the collection, placed on its pattern pieces and shaped by its cut, so a maze sits differently on a dress than on a waistband.

  2. ArtworkIllustrator and Photoshop. I finished the chosen drawings as vector prints and colorways.
  3. GarmentCLO 3D. The prints were dressed on the real designs, so each piece has a digital twin.

From the line fields the studies grew into families: organic textures in blue, mazes drawn from the square kufic KNTLGY mark, and wireframe solids. The compositions bring the families together and run through colorways in black, blue and white.
